Better Productivity through Better Mixing

Mixing operations are encountered widely throughout the process industry.Various mixing devices are used in prac¬tice to achieve the desired homogeneity, each requiring in depth understanding of underlying fluid mechanics of each device type and corresponding design methodology. The scope of this article is restricted to mixing in mechanically stirred (or agitated) systems. The article focuses on mixing time in an unbaffled vessel using advanced Electrical Resistance Tomography (ERT) technique to characterize mixing.
