Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranch, is looking for a Vice-Chancellor.

BIT Overview
A “Deemed to be University u/s 3 of UGC Act, 1956”, BIT Is one of the premier engineering institutions in the country. Completely residential. the campus is self-contained with excellent hostel facilities and hangout zones. BIT has more than 10,000 registered students spread across the main campus at Mesra, five other centres within India.

Qualifications
The Vice-Chancellor, being the academic and administrative head of the institute, is expected to have a proven teaching experience, strong research background, administrative and leadership acumen. The candidate for the post of Vice-Chancellor should have a Ph.D. Degree, preferably with a first class degree at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels in Engineering Technology.

The candidate must be an academician and administrator of excellent repute who possesses at least 15 years of experience in Teaching/Research/Industry, out of which 10 years must be at the level of Professor or above In an Educational Institute, industry/Research Organisation.

The normal tenure of the Vice-Chancellor is five years, subject to retirement age being 65 years. The candidate should preferably be around 50 years of age.

Emolument
UGC scale of pay, plus allowances for a Vice-Chancellor of a University and Consultancy.
