Omkar receives patent to produce Artificial Sweetener

Omkar Speciality Chemicals recently received its 8th process patent to produce sodium saccharin (2,3 – Dihydroxy-1,2-benzisothiazol-3-one-1,1-dioxide’ from Intellectual property India, Government of India Patent office.

The process is safe, economic and eco-friendly, said the company in a statement. Sodium saccharin (Benzoic Sulfimide) is an artificial sweetener with effectively no food energy. It is about 300-400 times as sweet as sucrose. The sweetener has a metallic aftertaste at high concentrations, the company said.
