GoodEnough Energy is planning to invest in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) gigafactory in Jammu and Kashmir, starting with an initial capacity of seven gigawatt hours (GWh). By 2026, the factory is projected to reach a full-scale capacity of 20 GWh. The company envisions creating a comprehensive ecosystem by producing advanced BES systems to empower various industries in their efforts to mitigate carbon emissions.
As a manufacturer dealing in BESS, GoodEnough Energy offers solutions for commercial, industrial, and institutional energy backup needs. The company has committed a total investment exceeding ₹450 crore into the gigafactory project. It is dedicated to supporting India’s net-zero goal and aiding industries with high CO2 emissions such as moulding, automation, mining, hospitals, refineries, malls, and shopping complexes.
The annual storage capacity of seven GWh is expected to facilitate a reduction of more than five million tons (MT) of CO2 emissions annually. With plans for capacity expansion, GoodEnough Energy aims to achieve a reduction of 15 million tons of CO2 emissions by 2026. As reported by businessline, considering two operational cycles daily, the gigafactory’s initial capacity of seven GWh aims to reduce over five million tons of CO2 emissions annually.
GoodEnough Energy Founder Akash Kaushik said, “With India’s largest and state-of-the-art BESS gigafactory in J&K, we are focusing on developing indigenous BESS technologies with global competence and cutting-edge features. Our revolutionary energy storage systems are made in India and aim to empower high CO2 emission industries in achieving their green targets”.
