The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA), the voice of the petrochemical and chemical industry in the Arabian Gulf, organized a new workshop entitled “GPCA Developing Future Chemical Leaders” on 7 March in Dubai, UAE. The workshop, led by the GPCA Youth Council and facilitated by consultancy firm Heidrick & Struggles, welcomed over 90 young professionals from GPCA member companies in the GCC region.

The workshop’s objective was to empower emerging leaders in the chemical industry to develop the leadership skills needed to take on more senior roles and lead the industry into a brighter future. As part of the workshop, young professionals from GPCA member companies delved into successful leadership traits, exploring their styles and “culture shadows”, drawing inspiration from real-life leaders to emphasize talent development, results-driven approaches, and fostering innovation.

Through a range of interactive sessions, attendees honed foresight, adaptability, and resilience, while examining how individual behaviors shape company culture and strategies for cultivating excellence and innovation.

As per the press release, facilitated by the experts at Heidrick & Struggles, Louis Besland, Partner, Jan Hendrik Kraus, Partner, Suvi Kitchloo, Principal, Suhas Anand, Principal, Vladislava Taraban, Consultant and Prashasti Mishra, Engagement Leader, young professionals gained invaluable insights into shaping culture and overcoming leadership hurdles effectively.
