Epigral significantly enhanced its chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) production capabilities by inaugurating an additional 45,000 tons per annum (tpa) CPVC resin plant at its Dahej facility in Gujarat. The expansion elevates Epigral’s total CPVC resin capacity to 75,000 tpa, establishing it as the largest CPVC resin facility worldwide at a single location.
Epigral is diversifying its operations into CPVC compound production, aiming for a projected capacity of 35,000 tpa. The compound production project is currently underway and is anticipated to commence operations in the first quarter of the FY25.
CPVC resin and compound play crucial roles in the manufacturing of CPVC pipes and fittings due to their exceptional heat and chemical resistance properties. The qualities render CPVC products suitable for various domestic and industrial applications. Epigral’s strategic expansion underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. As reported by Projects Today, the demand for CPVC in India stands at approximately 2,50,000 tpa and continues to grow, with an expected annual growth rate ranging between 10% and 13%.
