Kerala has received funding approval from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), under the ministry of science and technology, government of India, for its ambitious green hydrogen valley project. The state aims to establish two green hydrogen valleys in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram, following a proposal submitted to the DST last year.

The DST had called for proposals from agencies to create hydrogen valleys as part of Mission Innovation, a global initiative involving 23 countries and the European Commission. This initiative focuses on driving research and investment to make clean energy affordable and accessible worldwide.

As reported by ETEnergyworld.com, the primary objective of the hydrogen valleys is to enhance research, innovation, and the capabilities of scientific and industrial stakeholders. Additionally, the project aims to demonstrate clean hydrogen solutions for potential deployment at local, regional, and national levels.
