SJVN, through its wholly-owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy (SGEL), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with AM Green Ammonia (India) to provide renewable energy for AM Green Ammonia’s plants in Andhra Pradesh.
AM Green Ammonia (India), a part of the Greenko Group, is building one of the largest green ammonia platforms globally in Kakinada. The project will be developed in two phases, starting with a capacity of one million tons per annum (MTPA) and eventually increasing to five MTPA by 2030, equivalent to one MTPA of hydrogen.
Both companies have agreed to supply/sourcing of renewable energy on a long-term basis for these green ammonia plants, with terms and conditions to be mutually decided.
As reported by Projects Today, the MoU represents SGEL’s first venture into the commercial and industrial segment, adding to its existing renewable energy portfolio of about 7.2 GW in various stages of development. SGEL and AM Green Ammonia will explore innovative commercial frameworks and will soon enter into a definitive agreement to formalize their future actions.
