SJVN, through its wholly-owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), signed a memorandum of understanding with AM Green Ammonia to establish renewable energy projects in India.
The projects will support AM Green Ammonia’s green ammonia facilities. SGEL plans to develop 4,500 megawatts (MW) of clean energy capacity, including 2,500 to 3,000 MW of solar and 1,500 to 2,000 MW of wind energy, over three phases.
The projects are expected to produce approximately 11,500 million units of energy annually. AM Green, part of the Greenko Group, is constructing one of the largest green ammonia platforms in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. The development will occur in two phases: starting with an annual capacity of one million tons, then expanding to five million tons per year by 2030, equating to one million tons of hydrogen annually.
As reported by msn.com, SGEL’s current renewable energy portfolio includes around 7.2 gigawatts in various stages of development. The partnership with AM Green marks SGEL’s first foray into the commercial and industrial sectors.
