Vedanta Aluminium Receives BIS Certifications for Product Quality

Vedanta Aluminium announced that the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has certified its 12 mm wire rods produced at the Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) facility in Korba, Chhattisgarh.

The 12 mm aluminium wire rods are highly valued for their superior conductivity, light weight, and durability, making them ideal for power and electrical transmission applications.

As the first company in the Indian aluminium industry to achieve BIS certification for its extensive range of aluminium products, Vedanta Aluminium’s BALCO facility manufactures EC ingots, alloy ingots, primary Ingots, rolled sheets, rolled conductor plates, and rolled plates for general engineering purposes.

The BIS has also re-certified six other product categories, including the new certification for the 12 mm wire rod. The certifications are crucial for Vedanta’s BALCO unit, covering 17 products in total and providing a competitive advantage.
