Gensol Engineering Ltd, in partnership with Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd, successfully secured the bid as the lowest bidder for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of India’s pioneering bio-hydrogen project.

Valued at ₹164 crore and set for completion within eighteen months, the project represents a crucial step toward supporting the national green hydrogen mission, which focuses on generating green hydrogen from biomass.

The consortium has collaborated with Westinghouse, USA, which provides the patented technology used in this project and has experience commissioning similar plants worldwide. The project’s scope includes the development of a twenty-five ton per day (TPD) bio-waste processing facility and the production of one ton per day (TPD) of green hydrogen using the pre-gasification plasma induced radiant energy based gasification system (GH2-PREGS) technology.

Anmol Singh Jaggi, Chairman and Managing Director of Gensol Engineering, expressed satisfaction on securing the EPC contract for India’s first biomass-to-green hydrogen project, which is being developed for one of the country’s leading power generation companies.

He highlighted the consortium’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the renewable energy sector, aligning with India’s national green hydrogen mission and advancing the company’s position as a provider of turnkey EPC solutions.

Chirag Kotecha, Whole-time Director of Matrix Gas & Renewables, emphasized the team’s dedication to executing the project with precision and efficiency. He noted that the initiative would serve as a model for future projects, contributing to the creation of a comprehensive green hydrogen ecosystem and marking the beginning of a new era in plasma waste-to-energy technology.

As reported by cnbctv18.com, Gensol Engineering is a known player in the renewable energy sector, with expertise in solar engineering, procurement, and construction, as well as electric mobility solutions.
