Covestro (India) Launches Advanced Trimer Production Facility in Ankleshwar

Covestro (India) Private Limited, a brand into high-performance polymers, inaugurated a cutting-edge production facility at its Ankleshwar site in Gujarat. The facility, the first of its kind in the country, reflects Covestro India’s strong support for the “Make in India” initiative, aimed at strengthening local manufacturing capabilities and positioning India as a key player in global production.

The plant will manufacture a wide range of Desmodur® ultra trimer products, which are crucial for industries like automotive, construction, furniture, and consumer electronics.

Covestro’s aim is to meet the increasing demand for sustainable, high-performance solutions in the coatings and adhesives sector throughout the Asia-Pacific region, with the first batch of products expected by Q4 2024.

Desmodur® ultra trimer products are vital in producing coatings and adhesives known for their superior durability and resistance to UV rays, chemicals, and physical wear.

The Ankleshwar facility becomes the fourth dedicated trimer production site globally, joining Covestro’s operations in China, Germany, and the USA. It underscores Covestro’s ongoing efforts to serve its customers globally.

Moreover, the facility demonstrates Covestro’s dedication to sustainable development. The technology implemented in the production process is designed to minimize carbon emissions and support environmentally responsible manufacturing practices.
