Srichakra Triples Capacity for Bottle-Grade rPET Production

Srichakra Polyplast commissioned two additional Starlinger PET bottle-to-bottle recycling lines, building upon its existing recycling operations.

The company, which has been recycling post-consumer PET bottles and polyolefin packaging since 2021, expanded its recycling facility on the outskirts of Hyderabad, Telangana.

The new recoSTAR PET 165 HC iV+ lines join an existing setup that includes a PET bottle-to-bottle recycling line and another line equipped with odour reduction technology for processing polyolefins.

With the integration of the two new lines, Srichakra Polyplast has tripled its production capacity of recycled PET (rPET), reaching a total output of 42,000 tons of bottle-grade rPET annually.

As reported by recyclinginside.com, P V Ravindra, Managing Director of Srichakra Polyplast, highlighted the rising demand for rPET in India, driven by the government’s extended producer responsibility (EPR) mandate. By 2025, brand owners and producers are required to use 30% post-consumer recycled PET in their beverage bottles.
