Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) and Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) announced their participation in the Utilities for Net Zero Alliance (UNEZA).

AGEL, specializing in renewable energy, and AESL, operating in the transmission and distribution (T&D) sector, have become the first Indian companies in their respective fields to join this international coalition.

Sagar Adani, Executive Director, AGEL stated, “The membership offers us a platform to collaborate with global partners to further sustainability goals, foster innovation, and accelerate the transition to clean energy. As India’s largest renewable energy company, we are committed to delivering 50 GW of renewable capacity by 2030, contributing ten percent to the country’s non-fossil fuel energy targets”.

Anil Sardana, Managing Director, AESL added, “Membership in UNEZA allows us to learn from global peers while also sharing our expertise in building high-capacity renewable energy evacuation systems. As the Adani portfolio pursues ambitious renewable energy projects, developing reliable infrastructure to facilitate uninterrupted energy transfer is crucial”.

UNEZA operates under the guidance of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions.

As reported by news24online.com, launched at COP28 with the UAE Declaration of Action, the alliance brings together leading global utilities and power companies to promote the development of renewable energy-ready grids, clean energy innovations, and enhanced electrification efforts.
