BCL Industries Announces Acquisition, Targets Biogas Expansion in Haryana

BCL Industries announced the acquisition of Goyal Distillery, located in Fatehabad, Haryana. Goyal Distillery has the required land and permits to establish a 250 KLPD (kiloliters per day) grain-based ethanol plant.

The acquisition will significantly enhance BCL’s production capacity with the establishment of a 250 KLPD ethanol facility, alongside a power plant utilizing paddy straw as the main fuel source. The company mentioned that the distillery could be operational in nearly half the usual time, as all essential clearances have been received.

With this expansion, BCL’s total distillery capacity will rise from the current 700 KLPD to 1,100 KLPD, factoring in the addition of 150 KLPD at its Bathinda facility and 250 KLPD at the newly acquired Fatehabad site. Post-acquisition, Goyal Distillery will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of BCL Industries.

BCL Industries reaffirmed its commitment to advancing its green energy efforts by unveiling plans to build a 20 MTPD (metric tons per day) biogas plant on an adjacent nine-acre plot in Haryana. As reported by gleaf.in, the company plans to invest approximately ₹250 crore in setting up both the distillery and biogas plants. Operations for both plants are expected to commence within twenty months.
