Avaada Plans to Build Integrated Ingot-to-PV Module and Battery Factory

Avaada Group, a renewable energy company, commenced construction of a manufacturing facility, Avaada Electro, at the Addl. Butibori Industrial Park in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The facility, part of Avaada’s larger ₹13,650 crore investment, will feature a vertically integrated solar manufacturing unit.

The facility will cover the entire production chain, from ingot-wafer production to PV cells and modules. In addition, it will focus on producing next-generation batteries and electrolyzers.

To strengthen domestic supply chains, Avaada also plans to set up ancillary units. These will ensure the timely supply of PV modules by manufacturing key components such as glass, aluminum frames, and junction boxes.

In its initial phase, Avaada will implement a wafer-to-module project with a planned capacity of five GW for solar cells and 3 GW for modules. As reported by pv-magazine.com, the solar cells, developed using TOPCon technology, will complement the company’s existing Dadri module plant, allowing for the production of high-efficiency cells and modules.
