Amneal to Build Two Manufacturing Facilities in Ahmedabad, Gujarat

Amneal Pharmaceuticals, a U.S. based company, plans to invest around ₹1,680 crore in India over the next four to five years to establish two new manufacturing facilities in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. These will include a peptide synthesis plant and an advanced sterile fill-finish manufacturing unit.

As part of the expansion, Amneal’s total investment in India will range between $150 million and $200 million to construct the two greenfield facilities. The company aims to lead the development and large-scale manufacturing of innovative branded medicines in India, catering both to local and global markets.

Amneal currently operates eight manufacturing plants, five of which are located in Ahmedabad. It also has facilities in Dahej, Hyderabad, and Vizag, along with commercial offices in Mumbai.

As reported by projectstoday.com, in the last ten years, the company invested approximately $600 million in India, with the capacity to produce around sixty million injectable units and 8.5 billion tablets annually across its facilities.
