Hindustan Zinc, a subsidiary of Vedanta and producer of zinc and silver, announced a capex plan worth approximately ₹30,000 crore aimed at increasing its metal production to over two million tons over the next five years.
The company plans to collaborate with global contractors to facilitate mine expansion and development. The initiative will focus on boosting zinc production capacity to two million tons and increasing lead and silver output from 800 tons to 2,000 tons.
As reported by thehindubusinessline.com, Hindustan Zinc partnered with two Australian firms specializing in mine planning and contracting. Additionally, the company has engaged a consultant to enhance zinc smelting capacity through a combination of greenfield and brownfield projects.
