Greenzo Energy Unveils One MW Alkaline Electrolyzer Stack for Green Hydrogen Production

Greenzo Energy launched a new one MW alkaline electrolyzer stack, the ‘Un Wheel,  designed for green hydrogen production. The advanced technology is tailored specifically to perform optimally under India’s varied environmental conditions.

Designed for Indian Climate

The ‘Un Wheel’ electrolyzer is engineered entirely by Indian scientists and designed to operate effectively in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C. With an expected lifespan of twenty years, the electrolyzer can deliver hydrogen at a pressure of thirty bar, removing the need for additional compressors.

Advanced Monitoring for Safety and Efficiency

The electrolyzer stack includes sophisticated monitoring and control systems. These regulate essential parameters such as:

  • Water Quality: Maintains pure water for longevity and enhanced performance.
  • Pressure Levels: Ensures safe and efficient hydrogen production.
  • Purification Stability: Keeps a stable purification pressure to uphold high hydrogen purity.
  • Temperature Control: Manages lye temperature for optimal electrolytic reactions.
  • Circulation and Dew Point: Preserves hydrogen purity and process stability.
  • Indigenous Technology for Cost and Energy Efficiency

Greenzo Energy Founder and Managing Director, Sandeep Agarwal, emphasized the cost-effective approach of the ‘Un Wheel’. He noted that the electrolyzer utilizes indigenous alkaline water electrolysis technology, leveraging non-noble metals to reduce costs and energy usage.

“Our design ensures scalable, safe deployment with advanced electrode materials that boost efficiency and reduce degradation,” Agarwal stated. “We’ve also developed a unique electrolyte composition that enhances performance, durability, and energy efficiency through waste heat recovery,” Agarwal fyrther added.

Commercial Availability and Future Growth

Commercially available, the ‘Un Wheel’ stack targets sectors such as heavy manufacturing, transportation, and power as they transition to clean energy. With a current order book worth ₹1,400 crore, Agarwal expects the new stack to significantly enhance revenue potential.

“We aim to build key partnerships with both private and public sectors to drive green hydrogen adoption on a national scale,” Agarwal added.

High Standards and Certifications

As reported by pv-magazine-india.com, the ‘Un Wheel’ electrolyzer complies with the highest international standards, holding ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and ISO 14001:2015 certifications.
