Godrej Chemicals to Acquire Savannah Surfactants Business

Godrej Industries’ Chemicals Business has announced the acquisition of the Food Ester and Emulsifier Business from Savannah Surfactants Limited.

The move, formalized through a business transfer agreement, aligns with Godrej’s strategy to broaden its portfolio, expanding into the food and beverage sector.

Recognized for its work in oleochemicals, surfactants, specialty chemicals, and biotech, Godrej aims to enhance its market presence through this transaction.

Manufacturing Capabilities

Savannah Surfactants Limited, located in Goa, has a production capacity of 5,200 MTPA (metric tons per annum) of finished food esters and emulsifiers.

Along with the facility in Goa, the company operates three manufacturing locations – one in Maharashtra and two in Gujarat.

These facilities, supported by a state-of-the-art R&D centre, enable Savannah to meet specific performance requirements with tailored solutions.

Expanding Product Reach

With this acquisition, Godrej is set to strengthen its reach across diverse segments.

The company provides solutions across various industries. These include home and personal care, oil and gas, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, rubber, chemical and polymer intermediaries, lubricants, and metalworking fluids.

As per the press release, the acquisition positions Godrej as a leader in specialty chemicals. It also enhances their offerings for the food and beverage industry.
