NTPC Green Signs MoU with Bihar Government

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar.

The agreement sets the stage for substantial investments aimed at boosting renewable energy initiatives in the state.

Scope of the Agreement

NTPC Green signed MoU with Bihar Government to develop various renewable energy projects in Bihar.

These include ground-mounted and floating solar installations, battery energy storage systems, and green hydrogen mobility initiatives.

The collaboration aims to enhance Bihar’s energy infrastructure while promoting sustainable development.

Support from the Government of Bihar

The Government of Bihar has committed to facilitating the required permissions, registrations, approvals, and clearances.

These efforts will streamline project implementation and ensure seamless coordination among relevant departments, agencies, and authorities.

NTPC Green Energy’s Leading Role

Promoted by NTPC, a Maharatna central public sector enterprise, NGEL holds the distinction of being the largest renewable energy public sector enterprise in India (excluding hydro projects) based on operating capacity.

As of September 30, 2024, the company operated renewable energy assets totalling 3,320 MW across six states.
