Premier Energies’ subsidiaries have bagged substantial orders for the supply of solar cells and modules, amounting to ₹1460 crore.
This comes as part of the company’s continued efforts to expand its solar energy footprint.
Order Details and Timeline
The orders, which include both solar modules and solar cells, come from two large Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and other clients.
The total ₹1460 crore allocates ₹1041 crore for solar modules and ₹419 crore for solar cells.
The company has set the timeline for delivery, with the supply of these modules scheduled to begin in May 2025.
Involved Subsidiaries
The following subsidiaries of Premier Energies have bagged the contracts:
- Premier Energies Global Environment Private Limited
- Premier Energies International Private Limited
- Premier Energies Photovoltaic Private Limited
The subsidiaries have successfully secured the multiple orders, underscoring the company’s growing influence in the renewable energy market.
ALMM Policy and Impact on Solar Production
The development comes on the heels of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) proposal to include solar cell production under the ALMM (Approved List of Models and Manufacturers).
The move is similar to the existing ALMM for solar modules.
As reported by saurenergy.com, the earlier implementation of the ALMM for solar modules successfully acted as a non-tariff barrier, aiming to protect the domestic solar module industry by curbing the influx of inexpensive Chinese solar modules.
