IESA Projects $500 Million Investment in Battery and Mobility Startups

The India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) has forecasted a significant $500 million investment in the Indian battery and mobility startup ecosystem over the next year.

The investment will fuel innovations, research and development, and the enhancement of products created by these startups.

Additionally, it will positively impact companies engaged in Battery Management Systems (BMS), safety management, and component manufacturing.

Boosting Innovation and Collaboration

IESA’s efforts to promote growth in this sector were highlighted during the Start-Up Connect program, which was organized in partnership with Hero MotoCorp at the Bharat Battery Show, a key event in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

During the program, Panneerselvam Madanagopal, CEO of MeitY Startup Hub, showcased how India can collaborate with government entities to jointly nurture the ecosystem’s growth.

IESA is also actively advancing its start-up and innovation program, which already works with over 400 startups.

It collaborates with organizations such as UNIDO, iCreate, India Accelerator, VJTI-TBI, BCKIC, and other global players.

These collaborations provide invaluable support, including investment, mentorship, technology validation, and access to global partnerships.

Strong Investment Outlook for Battery and Mobility Startups

Debi Prasad Dash, President of IESA, said, “Startups in India will be empowered with a projected investment of over $500 million. This will enable them to pioneer breakthrough innovations in battery technology and electric vehicle infrastructure.”

Dash added, “This investment will enhance our capabilities. It will also reinforce India’s position as a global leader in sustainable mobility and energy storage solutions.”

IESA: Leading the Charge in Energy Storage and Mobility
