Emcure Pharmaceuticals has launched its latest formulation research and development (R&D) centre in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, marking a significant step forward in advanced drug delivery systems.
Focus on Innovation and Skilled Professionals
The newly inaugurated Emcure Research Centre will accommodate around 350 skilled professionals. These experts will focus on developing innovative formulations, improving drug bioavailability, and designing patient-friendly delivery solutions.
The addition strengthens Emcure’s robust R&D infrastructure, which already includes five dedicated facilities: three for formulation research, one for API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) research, and one for biopharmaceuticals.
Extensive Manufacturing Network
Emcure operates thirteen manufacturing facilities across India, with units in Jammu, Sikkim, and Bengaluru primarily catering to the domestic market.
Facilities Supporting Global and Domestic Markets
According to Founder and CEO Satish Mehta, the company has strategically located facilities to support both export and domestic markets:
Sanand Facility: Specializes in injectable products exported to Europe, the US, and emerging markets.
Kadu Facility: Focuses on tablet manufacturing for international exports.
Mehsana Facility: Produces tablets and injectables for both domestic and global markets, including Europe, Canada, and emerging regions.
