Avro India Expands Plastic Recycling Capacity

Avro India Limited is significantly expanding its plastic recycling operations. The company has installed one of two advanced plastic recycling extruder machines, with commissioning set for the first week of February 2025.

The second machine will be operational later this month, boosting the company’s total recycling capacity from 500 MT to 1,000 MT per month.

Enhancing Efficiency with Advanced Technology

The newly installed machines feature cutting-edge technology designed to optimize operations. They reduce power consumption, minimize waste generation, and improve overall efficiency.

The upgrades will enhance throughput while lowering production costs. As a result, Avro India expects to see significant financial benefits starting in Q1 of FY26, particularly through improved gross margins from internal plastic granule consumption.

Strengthening the Plastic Waste Supply Chain

Avro India is also streamlining its plastic waste procurement process. The company has secured 30% of its plastic waste supply through direct corporate partnerships, reducing dependence on traditional scrap dealers. This strategic shift is expected to lower procurement costs by 30-40%, directly benefiting the company’s profitability.

Commitment to Sustainability and Future Growth

Beyond increasing capacity, Avro India is taking steps to enhance sustainability. The company has applied for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) certification, which will facilitate stronger corporate engagement and higher recycling volumes, leading to greater cost efficiencies.

Additionally, It is exploring partnerships with Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) to further expand its recycling capabilities.
