Eastman Auto and Power Ltd (EAPL), a market leader in India’s energy storage sector through its subsidiary Eastman New Energy Private Limited Ltd, has announced a strategic partnership with MTOW Mobility Private Limited (Urja Mobility), a leader in battery leasing for electric three-wheelers.
The companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on advanced lithium-ion battery technology. Their partnership focuses on developing and deploying this technology for India’s electric vehicle (EV) sector.
Supply of 20,000+ Lithium-Ion Batteries
Urja Mobility has committed to sourcing over 20,000 lithium-ion batteries from Eastman to support its nationwide battery leasing solution.
Eastman will also integrate Urja Mobility’s IoT and software solutions into its lithium batteries. This integration will enable remote monitoring and real-time analytics, enhancing efficiency and performance.
Driving Innovation and Sustainable Mobility
The partnership aims to accelerate EV adoption in India. It achieves this by combining Eastman’s expertise in lithium-ion battery technology with Urja Mobility’s battery leasing solutions for electric three-wheelers.
The collaboration will contribute to the country’s sustainability goals by offering more efficient, eco-friendly, and cost-effective transportation solutions. As a market leader in E-Rickshaw batteries, Eastman will further strengthen its position in the electric three-wheeler segment through this initiative.
