Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) from Continuum Green Energy Limited for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 40 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS).
The project will implement wind-solar hybrid sites in Gujarat and will be valued at Rs 400 million.
Advanced Battery Technology to Boost Efficiency
The project will feature lithium iron phosphate (LFP)-based liquid-cooled containerised BESS technology.
The team will execute it under a Lump Sum Turnkey Project agreement, combining the solar project with a single battery storage system. The integration aims to improve the efficiency and reliability of renewable energy infrastructure in Gujarat.
By incorporating advanced battery storage, Waaree will provide a more stable power supply for industrial consumers.
The initiative aligns with Gujarat’s goal of advancing sustainable energy solutions. It also aims to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources.
Expanding into Alkaline Electrolyser Manufacturing
In February, Waaree Group began construction of an alkaline electrolyser manufacturing facility in Valsad, Gujarat.
The facility will have an initial production capacity of 300 MW. It will support industries such as steel, refining, transportation, fertilizers, chemicals, food, and power generation in their efforts to decarbonize operations.
According to renewablewatch.in, these projects help Waaree Renewable Technologies strengthen its position in India’s renewable energy sector. They also support the nation’s transition to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
