Arkema is advancing its sustainability goals with a new eight-year biomethane supply contract with ENGIE. The agreement will provide 25 GWh of biomethane per year, covering approximately 85% of the annual gas consumption at four Bostik sites in France—Coubert, Privas, Ribécourt, and Venette. By securing this renewable energy source, Arkema takes a significant step toward reducing its carbon footprint and transitioning to a more sustainable industrial model.
Building on a Strong Partnership with ENGIE
The latest agreement follows a long-term contract signed in early 2023, in which Arkema secured 300 GWh of biomethane per year from ENGIE. Strengthening this partnership reinforces Arkema’s commitment to clean energy solutions.
Leadership Perspectives on Decarbonization
Vincent Legros, Executive Vice President of the Adhesive Solutions segment at Bostik, emphasized the strategic importance of this initiative. “This contract represents a major milestone in our energy transition. It demonstrates our dedication to reducing our carbon footprint while helping our customers achieve their own sustainability goals.”
Edouard Chevalier, Managing Director, Risk Management and Origination, ENGIE, highlighted, “This second Biomethane Purchase Agreement (BPA) reaffirms our strong partnership. As a leading biomethane producer in France, ENGIE is proud to contribute to Arkema’s decarbonization strategy through this long-term commitment”.
As per the press release, this agreement strengthens Arkema’s sustainability efforts. The company continues to adopt clean energy solutions, reinforcing its commitment to environmental responsibility.
