Refex GreenPower Bags Coimbatore Bio-CNG Project

Refex GreenPower, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Refex Renewables, has bagged a contract from the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation to develop a 250 tons per day (TPD) municipal solid waste (MSW)-based Bio-CNG plant. The corporation issued the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) on April 5, 2025.

Twenty Year Lifecycle Commitment Under PPP Model

As part of the agreement, Refex GreenPower will manage the entire lifecycle of the project for twenty years. This includes design, construction, financing, operations, and eventual transfer of the facility. The project will be executed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, following the Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) framework.

Part of Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0

The Bio-CNG initiative is a key component of the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0 – Solid Waste Management program. The project aims to enhance sustainable urban infrastructure while promoting efficient waste-to-energy solutions across Indian cities.
