Emerson, a global player in industrial automation technology, unveiled the latest version of its Aspen Technology software—AspenTech v15. The new release marks a major leap forward in industrial AI capabilities and user experience while delivering powerful tools to help organizations meet their sustainability and operational performance targets.

AspenTech v15 introduces a host of advanced features, including expanded industrial AI tools and generative AI (GenAI) integration. These additions enhance decision-making, simplify complex workflows, and streamline system integration across platforms. The release delivers more than 175 sample models tailored for sustainability use cases, giving users actionable resources to advance decarbonization and resource efficiency goals.

Verdantix: GenAI Poised to Transform Operations

According to Malavika Tohani, Research Director for the Industrial Transformation practice at Verdantix, GenAI is becoming a pivotal force in plant operations. “Over 85% of firms in the Verdantix industrial transformation survey expect AI analytics and GenAI to significantly transform their plant operations,” she stated. “AspenTech’s v15 release democratizes the value gained from its various solutions faster through the incorporation of GenAI and other capability enhancements,” Tohani added.

New Capabilities for Subsurface Science and Power Utilities

AspenTech v15 introduces AspenTech Subsurface Intelligence™ Beta, a cloud-native environment for geoscience and engineering users. The solution breaks down departmental silos and supports faster, AI-enhanced decision-making across disciplines. Meanwhile, utility companies can benefit from AspenTech Cimphony Network Model Management™, now part of the Digital Grid Management suite. This new capability delivers a persistent, data-driven environment for power system model management using the Common Information Model (CIM).

AI-Driven Tools Enhance Performance and Productivity

The release features new machine learning models that precisely analyze reservoir changes and introduces automated layout generation in Aspen OptiPlant 3D Layout™ for both greenfield and brownfield projects. Enhanced AI support in the Aspen Virtual Advisor now provides deeper insights into model results and strategic guidance to help operators increase productivity and profitability.

Enhanced User Experience Across the Ecosystem

User experience has also seen major upgrades. As per the press release, the AspenTech Grid Apps™ web platform simplifies utility interactions, while AspenTech Inmation™ now enables online model deployment for Aspen Plus® and Aspen HYSYS®, further speeding up innovation cycles.

Accelerating Sustainability Across the Value Chain

AspenTech v15 expands its sustainability toolkit. Aspen Plus and Aspen HYSYS now support circular economy initiatives, plastics recycling, and green hydrogen projects. Additionally, new features in Aspen Supply Chain Planner™ enable better forecasting and visualization of emissions across entire value chains, supporting end-to-end sustainability improvements.
