Avaada Group entered into a strategic agreement with the Bihar government to develop one gigawatt (GW) of renewable energy capacity in the state. The ₹5,000 crore investment aims to accelerate Bihar’s transition to clean energy while enhancing energy security and sustainability. The agreement was formalised between the Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA) and Kishor Nair, CEO of Avaada Energy.

Diverse Renewable Infrastructure Planned

The project will encompass the installation of ground-mounted, floating, and community solar power plants, as well as battery energy storage systems (BESS). This diverse infrastructure will allow the state to optimize land and water resources while ensuring energy reliability and resilience.

Timelines and Development Phases

The company will begin project execution once it signs power purchase agreements (PPAs) and the state government allocates suitable land or water bodies. It expects to commence commercial production within two years, positioning Bihar as a key player in India’s renewable energy landscape.

Driving Sustainable and Inclusive Growth

Avaada emphasized that the project aligns with its commitment to building scalable, innovative clean energy solutions that not only reduce carbon emissions but also catalyse industrial growth and socio-economic development in underserved regions. As reported by ptojectstoday.com, the investment supports Bihar’s broader vision of strengthening renewable energy infrastructure, improving energy access, and contributing to India’s clean energy targets.
