AGC Inc., a global player in glass, chemicals, and high-tech materials, announced that its Southeast Asian group company PT Asahimas Chemical (ASC), based in Indonesia, has been awarded the ISCC PLUS Certification—a globally recognized standard for sustainable and renewable raw material management.
Ensuring Traceability and Sustainability Across the Supply Chain
The ISCC PLUS Certification affirms that ASC maintains a sustainable supply chain by ensuring the responsible sourcing and management of biomass-derived and renewable raw materials, including those from renewable energy sources. The certification guarantees traceability and compliance with International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Expanding a Greener Product Portfolio
With this certification in place, ASC can now manufacture and supply ISCC PLUS-certified products, including:
*Caustic Soda
*Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM)
*Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Resin
This significantly strengthens ASC’s product portfolio and allows it to support customers who prioritize sustainable sourcing and low-carbon solutions. The certified products meet stringent international sustainability benchmarks, helping clients align with their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.
Driving Sustainability Under Vision 2030
This achievement aligns seamlessly with AGC Group’s long-term management strategy, Vision 2030, which places “Sustainability Management” at its core. By offering certified products that reduce environmental impact—from raw material procurement to end use—AGC Group is advancing efforts to create a more sustainable and circular global economy. As per the press release, through initiatives like these, AGC is actively contributing to a low-carbon, resource-efficient future and reinforcing its role as a responsible global manufacturer.
