Shivtek Signs MoU with Bodal Chemicals for Rajpura Facility

Specialty chemicals manufacturer Shivtek Spechemi Industries Ltd, a flagship company of the Shiva Group of Industries, has taken a decisive step toward strengthening its presence in Northern and Eastern India. The company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bodal Chemicals Ltd, acquiring eight acres of land in Rajpura, Punjab, to set up a state-of-the-art specialty chemical manufacturing facility. The investment commitment stands at ₹50 crore, covering both land acquisition and plant development.

Expanding Footprint with a Sustainable Edge

The Rajpura project marks a major milestone in Shivtek’s ongoing push for green chemistry and export-oriented growth. The new plant will be located adjacent to Bodal’s existing chemical facility, ensuring direct pipeline access to chlorine, a critical input and byproduct of Bodal’s caustic soda operations. This setup will not only enhance operational efficiency and safety, but also reduce logistics costs and carbon emissions. “Rajpura is a strategic choice. Its proximity to Bodal’s chlorine facility allows us to build a truly efficient and sustainable operation,” said Dr. Amitt Nenwani, Managing Director of Shivtek Spechemi Industries Ltd.

Focus on Green, High-Demand Chemicals

With the global push toward sustainable materials, the Rajpura facility will focus on producing:

*Chlorinated Paraffin

*Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE)

*Green Plasticizers

These products support industries like plastics, rubber, and eco-friendly materials, aligning with rising global demand for sustainable alternatives and Shivtek’s strategy of vertical integration and environmentally responsible product development.

Future-Proofed for Growth

The eight-acre land parcel has been secured not only for the current facility but also to accommodate future expansions. Dr. Nenwani confirmed that this marks phase one of a multi-stage expansion plan, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to green innovation and regional development.

The facility will incorporate modern sustainability measures, including:

*Solar power integration

*Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems

*Strict air and water emission controls

*Full regulatory compliance with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF)

Operations are expected to commence by end of 2026 or Q4 FY27, subject to regulatory approvals.

A Strategic Win for Bodal Chemicals

For Bodal Chemicals, the MoU reflects more than just a land deal. The agreement optimizes land use and ensures a reliable, nearby offtake of chlorine, reducing storage risks and improving overall plant utilization. “This is a win-win collaboration. It supports safe, sustainable chlorine offtake and ensures uninterrupted operations for both companies,” said Ankit Patel, Executive Director of Bodal Chemicals Ltd. “This partnership is about synergy — not just land monetization,” Patel added.

Strengthening National Reach and Regional Impact

With the Rajpura plant, Shivtek will extend its national manufacturing network, which already includes:

*Dahej, Gujarat (West)

*Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh (South)

*Now Rajpura, Punjab (North)

This geographic spread enhances service delivery across Indian markets and creates a strong export gateway to neighboring countries, subject to future trade permissions. Moreover, phase one of the Rajpura facility is expected to generate significant local employment across manufacturing, engineering, and support roles — contributing to regional economic growth.

A Key Milestone in Shivtek’s Green Growth Journey

The strategic collaboration with Bodal Chemicals marks a turning point for Shivtek. It strengthens the company’s mission to become a leading eco-conscious chemical manufacturer in South Asia. As reported by knnindia.co.in, Shivtek is positioning itself at the forefront of green innovation in specialty chemicals. It is doing so by combining sustainable infrastructure, smart sourcing, and regional expansion.
