The Global Impact Coalition (GIC), a CEO-led collaborative platform advancing a net-zero and circular chemicals future, has announced the launch of its Innovation Ecosystem. This new initiative connects start-ups, research bodies, technology organizations, and academia with leading chemical companies, fostering early-stage innovation to transform the industry.
Addressing Pressures for Sustainability
The chemical sector faces growing demands to cut emissions and advance circularity. This makes the need for new partnerships and innovation models increasingly clear. Innovators from both within and beyond the sector are developing breakthrough technologies. These innovations could significantly reshape the global chemicals value chain.
Driving Collaboration Between Innovators and Industry
“Innovation is happening fast and often at the edges,” said Charlie Tan, CEO of the Global Impact Coalition. “We are launching the Innovation Ecosystem to bring those edge innovators into the room with industry leaders, enabling early collaboration and ensuring breakthrough technologies can scale where they’re needed most,” Tan added. The Innovation Ecosystem will allow participants to directly engage with GIC’s active project portfolio, which focuses on emissions reduction, circularity, and sustainable feedstocks. By doing so, innovators gain the opportunity to contribute to commercially scalable solutions that align with shared global sustainability goals.
Opportunities for Innovators
Through the Innovation Ecosystem, participants can:
*Shape future-ready projects and pilot solutions with leading chemical companies
*Gain visibility and strategic insights across the chemical value chain
*Collaborate with global leaders to accelerate “no-harm” chemical innovation
Open Call for Participation
The initiative begins with an open call for applications aligned with GIC’s ongoing projects. Selected applicants will collaborate directly with relevant project teams and, if successful, help advance solutions toward commercial scale and eventual spin-out. As per the press release, the GIC Innovation Ecosystem bridges cutting-edge innovation with industry expertise. It represents a critical step toward creating a sustainable, circular, and climate-resilient chemical industry.
