Cummins India Limited (“Cummins India”), a power solutions technology provider, announced the launch of REDEFINE 2025, the 8th edition of its flagship business school (B-school) case study competition. Designed to empower the next generation of business leaders, the competition invites students from 19 premier B-schools across India to solve real-world industry challenges and present innovative solutions.
Driving the Energy Shift: This Year’s Theme
The theme for REDEFINE 2025 — “From Backup to Backbone: Driving the Energy Shift” — reflects the industry’s evolving landscape, shaped by the rise of renewables, decarbonization, and shifting customer expectations. Participants will be challenged to conceptualize service-led models such as Energy-as-a-Service, renewable energy integration, and grid-connected solutions. These solutions aim to address changing energy needs in a sustainable, scalable, and impactful manner, helping accelerate the transition to a cleaner energy future.

Competition Structure and Rewards
REDEFINE 2025 is open to bona fide first- and second-year students enrolled in flagship PGP, PGDM, PGDBM, or MBA programs. The competition will feature multiple rounds, culminating in a two-day grand finale at the Cummins India Office Campus in Pune, Maharashtra, on November 13–14, 2025. The winning team will receive a cash prize and an exclusive invitation to join Cummins India’s mentorship program, offering personalized guidance from company leaders to shape their future careers.
Strong Legacy and Expanding Reach
The previous edition, REDEFINE 2024, witnessed an overwhelming response, attracting 3,780 students across 1,260 teams from 18 leading institutions. The team from Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD), Pune, emerged as the champions. IIM Tiruchirappalli secured the runner-up position.
