INOX Air Products (INOXAP) has signed a 20-year on-site gas supply agreement with Premier Energies. This marks a major milestone in India’s renewable energy and advanced manufacturing landscape. The long-term partnership is based on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model. It will enable INOXAP to install and commission a state-of-the-art cryogenic Air Separation Unit (ASU) at Premier Energies’ greenfield solar cell facility in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh.
Advanced Gas Infrastructure for Solar Manufacturing
Under the agreement, the ASU will supply 7,000 nm³/h of 5N-grade Gaseous Nitrogen and 250 nm³/h of 6N-grade Gaseous Oxygen. It will also provide additional liquid products to support production processes. The high-purity gases will play a crucial role in ensuring precision, efficiency, and quality in solar cell manufacturing. INOXAP will commission the unit next year, expanding its footprint in India’s growing clean energy manufacturing sector.
Strengthening a Proven Partnership
INOXAP builds on its four-year collaboration with Premier Energies, having previously installed multiple Nitrogen generators at Premier’s Hyderabad facility. The company has also begun supplying electronic-grade gases for Premier’s 3GW solar photovoltaic (PV) cell production, soon to expand to 4GW. The latest deal further strengthens INOXAP’s position as a strategic partner in advancing Premier Energies’ domestic solar manufacturing capabilities.
Enabling India’s Solar Self-Reliance
Siddharth Jain, Managing Director, INOX Air Products, stated, “This long-term agreement is a significant step towards strengthening India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem. By ensuring a reliable and sustainable supply of high-purity industrial gases, we are supporting the country’s vision for a self-reliant, clean energy future.”
Surender Pal Singh Saluja, Chairman, Premier Energies, added, “Premier Energies is deeply committed to enhancing India’s renewable energy ecosystem. Our partnership with INOX Air Products reinforces our shared vision of building a robust, self-reliant clean energy manufacturing base for the nation.”
India’s First Integrated ASU for Solar Cell Manufacturing
The collaboration marks the creation of India’s first integrated Air Separation Unit dedicated to solar cell manufacturing. The initiative underscores INOXAP’s commitment to support India’s solar ambitions and drive the energy transition. It also aims to strengthen the country’s manufacturing infrastructure. As per the company press release, INOXAP provides reliable, high-purity gases to one of India’s leading solar manufacturers. This strengthens its role in driving sustainable industrial growth and advancing the nation’s clean energy goals.
