FieldComm Group, the global authority on open and interoperable industrial automation standards, has named SRF Limited’s Dahej facility as the winner of its 2025 Plant of the Year Award. The recognition highlights SRF’s strong progress in digital transformation, operational efficiency, and innovation using FieldComm Group technologies.
Building One of the World’s Most Advanced Chemical Complexes
Located in Gujarat, SRF Dahej has evolved into one of the world’s most advanced specialty chemical and fluorochemical manufacturing complexes. The facility spans 300 acres and uses a fully integrated digital infrastructure powered by HART, WirelessHART and FOUNDATION Fieldbus technologies. By connecting more than 40,000 smart field devices, SRF enables seamless communication, real-time diagnostics, and readiness for next-generation IIoT and Ethernet-APL connectivity.
FieldComm Group Applauds SRF’s Innovation
“SRF’s digital transformation journey reflects their deep commitment to innovation and continuous improvement,” said Ted Masters, President and CEO of FieldComm Group. He noted that SRF’s consistent use of open communication standards has strengthened safety, boosted reliability and delivered multi-million-dollar savings. According to him, this exceptional use of FieldComm Group technologies is exactly what earned SRF Dahej the 2025 Plant of the Year Award.
A Decade of Modernisation and Measurable Impact
SRF began its digital journey in 2010 with the adoption of HART technology. Over time, it expanded the programme to include FOUNDATION Fieldbus, WirelessHART and Instrument Asset Management Systems (IAMS). These initiatives have already delivered over USD 10.7 million in cumulative savings through reduced downtime, faster commissioning and predictive maintenance. Furthermore, SRF’s adoption of interoperable, standards-based technology has transformed its approach to lifecycle management, asset reliability and sustainability.
Future Roadmap: AI, Predictive Maintenance and Ethernet-APL
Looking ahead, SRF has laid out a clear digital roadmap through 2030. The company plans to integrate AI-driven analytics, strengthen predictive maintenance strategies and implement full Ethernet-APL connectivity across both greenfield and brownfield units. This long-term strategy positions SRF Dahej as a model for future-ready industrial automation.
A Global Benchmark for Industrial Automation
As reported by automation.com, FieldComm Group’s Plant of the Year Award honours facilities that demonstrate outstanding use of technologies such as HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, WirelessHART, FDI, FDT/DTM, PA-DIM and Ethernet-APL. By joining this elite global group, SRF Dahej reinforces its leadership in operational excellence and digital innovation.
