The Peruvian government has confirmed that hosting the World Mining Congress (WMC) 2026 in Lima will mark a strategic milestone for both the country and the global mining industry. The event will reinforce Peru’s position as a key player on the international mining stage while highlighting its long-term commitment to sustainable resource development.
Event to Drive Investment and Global Partnerships
According to the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the congress—scheduled for June 24 to 26 in Lima—will significantly boost investment and strengthen strategic alliances. Moreover, the event will bring together delegations from more than 50 countries, creating a high-level platform for dialogue among governments, investors, and leading mining executives.
Government Highlights Strategic Importance
The announcement came from the Minister of Energy and Mines, Luis Bravo De La Cruz, during a meeting with Gustavo De Vinatea, General Manager of the Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru (IIMP), the official organizer of the congress. As per The Press Release, the minister emphasized that WMC 2026 arrives at a critical moment for the industry, as global demand for critical minerals continues to rise due to worldwide electrification efforts.
