LANXESS Recognized for Strong Sustainability Performance

LANXESS has achieved leading positions in multiple global sustainability benchmarks, reinforcing its strong ESG credentials. In the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) Europe, the specialty chemicals company ranked first in the “Chemicals” category, scoring an impressive 79 out of 100 points.

At the global level, LANXESS also delivered a robust performance in the DJSI World, securing fourth place overall. Notably, the company excelled in key areas such as climate strategy, water management, corporate ethics, human rights, and product stewardship, highlighting its comprehensive sustainability approach.

MSCI ESG Maintains AA Rating

In November, MSCI ESG Ratings reaffirmed LANXESS’ AA rating for the fourth consecutive year. This places the company among the top performers in the “Commodity & Diversified Chemicals” sector. MSCI evaluates how effectively companies manage environmental, social, and governance risks, making this recognition particularly significant.

ISS ESG Upgrades Rating

At the same time, ISS ESG upgraded LANXESS’ rating from B- to B, while confirming its Prime status. The designation underscores the company’s position among the best-rated chemical companies globally. ISS ESG’s assessment is based on approximately 100 industry-specific indicators, further validating LANXESS’ strong performance.

EcoVadis Gold Rating Highlights Supply Chain Leadership

LANXESS also earned a Gold rating from EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of more than 100,000 companies evaluated worldwide. This recognition is particularly important, as EcoVadis ratings are widely used by organizations to assess the sustainability performance of their business partners and suppliers.

Commitment to Climate Neutrality

Looking ahead, LANXESS continues to align its strategy with global climate goals. The company aims to achieve climate-neutral production and energy use by 2040, followed by full value chain climate neutrality by 2050. According to the Science Based Targets initiative, LANXESS’ roadmap is consistent with efforts to limit global warming to 1.5°C, reinforcing its long-term sustainability vision.
