Meta Platforms and Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions announced a landmark renewable energy partnership in India, totalling more than 900 MW of capacity. The collaboration marks a significant step toward accelerating clean energy deployment while supporting Meta’s long-term sustainability and decarbonization objectives. The initiative reinforces both companies’ commitment to expanding renewable energy infrastructure and advancing India’s transition to a low-carbon economy.

837 MW of New Solar and Wind Capacity Planned

As part of the agreement, CleanMax will develop 837 MW of new solar and wind energy projects across Rajasthan and Karnataka. The latest development builds upon the companies’ existing renewable energy commitments and further strengthens their collaboration in the clean energy sector. Once operational, the projects will contribute substantial renewable energy capacity to India’s power grid, helping meet the growing demand for sustainable electricity across industries and digital infrastructure.

CleanMax to Develop and Operate Renewable Energy Assets

CleanMax will develop, own, and operate the large-scale renewable energy projects. Meanwhile, Meta will purchase 100 percent of the environmental attributes generated by the facilities, enabling the company to match its electricity consumption with renewable energy sources. This approach will help Meta reduce emissions across its value chain while supporting the addition of new renewable energy capacity to the Indian grid.

Supporting Meta’s Sustainability Goals

The agreement aligns with Meta’s global strategy to power its operations with clean energy and minimize its environmental footprint. By investing in renewable energy projects in India, the company is helping expand access to sustainable power while fostering growth in the country’s clean energy ecosystem. Amanda Yang, Head of Clean and Renewable Energy at Meta, said, “We’re pleased to continue working with CleanMax to help bring new renewable energy capacity onto the grid in India and support the growth of the country’s clean energy ecosystem.”

Driving India’s Clean Energy Transition

CleanMax views the collaboration as an opportunity to support both technological progress and sustainable development. As digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and interconnected technologies continue to expand, the demand for reliable clean energy is becoming increasingly important. Kuldeep Jain, Founder and Managing Director of Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions, said, “Every generation builds infrastructure that defines its future. For us, that infrastructure is increasingly digital, AI-driven and interconnected. It must also be powered by clean energy. We look forward to supporting Meta’s renewable energy ambitions while contributing to India’s clean energy transition.”

Strengthening Renewable Energy Infrastructure

The partnership highlights the growing role of corporate renewable energy procurement in driving clean energy investments. By bringing large-scale solar and wind projects online, Meta and CleanMax are not only supporting sustainability goals but also helping strengthen India’s renewable energy ecosystem. As reported by projectstoday.ai, as businesses increasingly seek low-carbon energy solutions, collaborations such as this are expected to play a critical role in expanding renewable energy capacity, reducing emissions, and supporting long-term sustainable growth.
