Syensqo has begun a major manufacturing expansion at its Havre de Grace, Maryland, facility, increasing production capacity by more than 30% through a multi-million-dollar investment. The project strengthens the company’s U.S. manufacturing footprint while enhancing its ability to serve the rapidly growing aerospace market with advanced material solutions.
The expansion also reinforces Syensqo’s global manufacturing network and supports its long-term strategy to supply high-performance structural adhesives and surfacing products for commercial aerospace, defense, propulsion, space, advanced air mobility, and automotive applications.
Investment Strengthens Aerospace Supply Chain
As aerospace remains Syensqo’s largest end market, the company is investing in additional capacity to help customers scale production more efficiently. By expanding operations at Havre de Grace, Syensqo aims to improve supply reliability and ensure consistent delivery of critical adhesive, bonding, and primer materials. Moreover, the new investment complements the company’s earlier capacity expansion in Wrexham, UK, creating a stronger and more resilient global production network.
Leadership Highlights Strategic Importance
“Today’s announcement marks an important milestone for our Havre de Grace site and for Syensqo’s continued growth in composite materials,” said Rodrigo Elizondo, President of Syensqo Composite Materials. “This investment will strengthen supply reliability, improve efficiency, and support our ability to meet growing customer demand for adhesive, bonding, and primer materials. It follows and complements our previous capacity increase in Wrexham, UK.”
Enhancing Efficiency and Global Manufacturing
In addition to increasing production capacity, the expansion is expected to improve operational efficiency across the site. Syensqo will leverage the upgraded facility to streamline manufacturing processes and better support customers requiring advanced composite material solutions. Furthermore, the project reinforces the strategic role of the Havre de Grace facility within Syensqo’s global manufacturing network, enabling the company to respond more effectively to rising demand from aerospace and other high-performance industries.
Long-Term Commitment to Advanced Materials
Through this investment, Syensqo continues to demonstrate its commitment to innovation and long-term growth in composite materials. As per the press release, the expanded Maryland facility will help the company support evolving customer requirements while strengthening its position as a supplier of high-performance materials for aerospace, defense, space, advanced air mobility, and automotive markets worldwide.
