Adani Planning to Invest $9 Billion for Green Hydrogen Project

The Adani Group is set to invest $9 billion in the development of manufacturing and transportation infrastructure for its green hydrogen plant in Kutch, Gujarat. The investment aims to achieve an initial production capacity of one million tons per year of green hydrogen, generated through water electrolysis powered by renewable energy sources.

The project will start with alkaline electrolysers, with future plans to incorporate anion exchange membrane technology. It is anticipated that the initiative will play a key role in the group’s growth strategy. The plan also includes the use of specialized ships to export hydrogen to Europe and Asia.

Additionally, Adani Green Energy has announced a ₹1.5 lakh crore investment to expand capacity to 30 GW at the Khavda renewable energy project site over the next five years. Operations have already begun on 2 GW of the planned capacity, within a year of the project’s launch.

As reported by projectstoday.com, the conglomerate is dedicated to energy transition projects, with plans exceeding approximately ₹835 crore for manufacturing crucial components for green energy. This encompasses the development of solar parks, wind farms, and facilities for producing electrolysers, wind turbines, and solar panels.
