Aether Industries to Commission Solar Power Plant in Gujarat

Aether Industries Limited, a specialty and fine chemical manufacturer has taken significant stride towards sustainability with an initiation of 15 MW solar power project (auto-tracker modules) under the captive power producer (CPP) segment. The order has been entrusted to KPIG Energia Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of KPI Green Energy Limited.

Aether Industries in the past had commissioned a 16MW solar power project (fixed modules) under the captive power producer (CPP) segment, in July 2022 and the new solar power plant under CPP, will add to its renewable energy sources and further move towards the sustainability. The solar power farm will be in Gujarat’s Bharuch district and spread across sixty acres. The captive solar power plant is one of the most important initiatives in the speciality chemicals industry. The phase-wise commissioning of the solar power plant is set to begin as early as in the course of the coming financial year.

Through this strategic move, Aether Industries aligns its commitment to sustainability with its goal of replacing or substituting conventional energy sources with clean and renewable alternatives. To ensure maximum efficiency, Aether Industries will be deploying the cutting-edge auto-tracker modules to achieve optimum orthogonal angles to harness the sunlight.

Rohan Desai, Promoter and Whole Time Director, Aether Industries said, “As an enterprise, we are very cognizant of the elements that sustain life. This is why we are also part of UN Global Compact Network India to practice and promote sustainable manufacturing. Therefore, our decision to commission a fairly large solar park is in-line with that guiding philosophy. We will continue to explore ways to make Aether Industries a benchmark in sustainability within the chemicals industry in the country”.

As per the press release, the triple stage multiple effect evaporator (MEE) technology and the 100 KLPD in-house zero liquid discharge (ZLD) plant allow for responsible liquid waste management. Resource conservation is also aided by the mechanical vapour recompression (MVR) plant and agitated thin film evaporator (ATFE) technology, which prioritise energy efficiency and accurate separation operations. With its cutting-edge soil biotechnology (SBT) platform with ozonation and reverse osmosis (RO) plant, Aether Industries also promotes sustainable soil management while advocating water conservation.
