AGRA Industries and Carbon Clean Partner for Carbon Capture

Carbon Clean collaborated with AGRA Industries to promote Carbon Clean’s semi-modular CaptureX technology in agriculture-related sectors, specifically targeting biofuel ethanol and sustainable aviation fuel production.

As reported by Hydrocarbon Processing, the partnership will facilitate the capture of CO2 emitted during the biofuel fermentation process, leading to fuels with lower carbon intensity (CI) ratings. This reduction enhances biofuel producers’ eligibility for Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) credits, such as the 45Z clean fuel production and 45Q tax credits.

Aniruddha Sharma, Chair and CEO of Carbon Clean, stated that the collaboration with AGRA Industries benefits biofuel producers by combining AGRA’s agricultural engineering expertise with Carbon Clean’s cost-effective and easy-to-install carbon capture technology. He emphasized that this integration allows producers to further reduce their carbon intensity, advancing their participation in the circular economy.

Pat Hinner, President of AGRA Industries, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting AGRA’s extensive general contracting experience and the potential positive impact of combining their design-build skid modularization expertise with Carbon Clean’s advanced carbon capture solutions. He underscored the joint effort’s potential to significantly reduce carbon emissions in the biofuels industry.
