Alfa Laval India is looking for Evaporation process engineer for Pune location.
The purpose of this job is to independently carry out promotional technical meetings as agreed with Sales Manager. Independently explore opportunities to define customer need through a direct customer/
Develop and maintain a product and application competence with support of central expert.
Train sales engineers in product and application knowledge to enable them to generate leads and spot opportunities
Ensure fast and qualified response to customer needs.
Ensure close interaction with customers to improve the customer experience.
Quickly handle changes in customer behaviors and needs.
Guide the customer to reduce their selection time and make beneficial choices for Alfa Laval.
Develop mass and energy balance for the process with support of process expert.
Design and size evaporator systems (both shell and tube and plate heat exchangers) together with process specialist.
Carry out hydraulic calculations for pumps and blowers, sizing of process piping and sizing of safety relief valve.
Review RFQ, contract requirements, customer specifications and process datasheets to identify requirements and scope of work.
Clarify and agree on scope split and responsibilitie
Develop technical specifications for bought out items.
Estimate cost and lead time
Prepare a process and execution risk analysis with consequence and mitigation.
Prepare quotation using our global template including technical and commercial clarifications.
Arrange internal kickoff meeting and transfer basic engineering package to the execution team after receipt of order.
Deliver input to improve current technical solutions and/or develop new solutions to ensure our competitive advantage.
Degree in Chemical Engineering at university level.
Strong knowledge in evaporation.
Well versed with engineering procedures and international codes & standards.
Should be conversant with Excel, Word and Power Point.
Conversant with software like HTRI 6.0. and Chemcad 6.1.

Operating experience from evaporation equipment
Experience of working in a matrix organization
Capable of working independently on mass balance, P&ID and component specifications
Demonstrated experience of evaporator design for chemical processing and ZLD
First-hand experience of dealing with EPC consultants like e.g. UHDE, AKER, TOYO, EIL
Awareness of level of documentation required by engineering consultants
Demonstrated experience of clarification meetings with consultants
Demonstrated experience of carrying out commissioning, start-up and delivering training to plant operators
