Aloxe Unveils Recycled PET Plant, Marks €25 Million Investment for Environmental Transition

Aloxe celebrated the grand inauguration of its cutting-edge recycled PET plastic manufacturing plant in Messein, Meurthe-et-Moselle. The event, graced by distinguished personalities including Julien Le Goff, Deputy Prefect, Dominique Potier, MP, and Audrey Bardot, VP of Meurthe-et-Moselle Departmental Council, marked a significant milestone in Aloxe’s commitment to sustainable solutions.

Aloxe’s substantial €25 million investment in the new plant reflects a practical and proven technological approach aimed at addressing the pressing challenges associated with reusing and recycling single-use food-grade plastic bottles. This investment is strategically aligned with the broader environmental transition initiatives in France and Europe.

In just two years, Aloxe has fortified and accelerated its industrial development within France, proudly unveiling the largest recycled PET manufacturing plant in the country. The production capacity has surged from 12.5 kt to an impressive 50 kt, positioning Aloxe as the independent leader in Recycled PET in Europe by 2024, boasting a 120kt capacity across facilities in France, Poland, and Italy.

Situated on reclaimed brownfield land, the Messein plant has become the largest recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) production facility in France. Since September 2023, two new EREMA VACUNITE production lines have been operational, and further expansion is expected with the relocation of old lines from the existing Vézelise facility in December 2023. This move will elevate Aloxe’s PET recycling capacity from 12.5 kt to an impressive 50 kt annually.

The ambitious project not only required a substantial financial commitment but also contributed to job creation, with 30 new full-time positions established in 2023. Existing personnel from the Vézelise plant were offered the opportunity to transfer to the new facility, enhancing employment prospects in the Saintois region and actively supporting the re-industrialization of the Grand Est region and France in the burgeoning ecological transition growth industry.
