Alpex Solar Limited is set to establish a 1.6 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Kosi Kotwan, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, with a total investment of ₹642 crore. The expansion will be carried out in three phases, with the first 500 MW expected to be operational by October 2025.
The subsequent phases are scheduled for completion by April 2026 and September 2026, respectively.
Earlier this year, the company acquired a seven-acre plot from the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) for the construction of the second manufacturing unit.
As reported by projectstoday.com, the solar cell facility will be located on the same site as a planned greenfield project for a 1.2 GW solar PV module production. By the third quarter of FY25, the total capacity for solar modules is anticipated to reach 1.2 GW.
