Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies (ARACT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility (ARE&M), will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ather Energy. The agreement will see Amara Raja collaborate with Ather to develop and supply advanced battery technologies, including nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, as well as other lithium-ion and cutting-edge chemistry cells.
The batteries will be produced at Amara Raja’s upcoming Gigafactory in Divitipally, Telangana. Amara Raja recently formed a partnership with Gotion-InoBat-Batteries (GIB) to adapt global LFP technology for the Indian market. Additionally, the company secured an agreement with Jiangsu Highstar Battery Manufacturing for NMC technology.
As reported by projectstoday.com, Amara Raja is investing ₹9,500 crore to establish a 16 GWh capacity gigafactory in Telangana and will create an advanced research and innovation center named ‘ePositive Energy Labs’ in Hyderabad.
