Integrated API, Green Hydrogen and Ethanol Facility to be Built in Himachal Pradesh

In a significant step towards green energy and industrial growth, the Himachal Pradesh government signed a Memorandum of Commitment (MoC) with M/s Spray Engineering Devices Limited, Chandigarh. The agreement, signed in the presence of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, paves the way for India’s first integrated manufacturing facility for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), Green Hydrogen, and 2G Ethanol. The project, located in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) industrial area of Solan district, will involve an investment of ₹1400 crore.

Green Hydrogen Requirements

The state-of-the-art facility will create job opportunities for 1,000 youth, boosting the local economy. In the first phase, the project will require 30 MW of green hydrogen, with future expansion plans increasing the demand to 50 MW.

Himachal’s Commitment to Green Energy

Reaffirming the state’s commitment to sustainability, Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized the goal of making Himachal Pradesh the country’s leading Green Energy State by March 2026. The government has launched several projects, including a 1 MW Green Hydrogen plant at Nalagarh with Oil India Limited. With such initiatives, Himachal Pradesh aims to position itself as a pioneer in the green energy sector.

Call for Timely Completion of the Project

The Chief Minister urged Spray Engineering Devices Ltd. to finish the facility in a year. This ensures progress toward green energy goals.

Signing of the MoC

As reported by chinimandi.com, Director of Industries Dr. Yunus signed the MoC for the Himachal Pradesh government. Managing Director Vivek Verma represented Spray Engineering Devices Ltd.
