Avaada Group has entered into a strategic partnership with Swiss firm Casale to develop a
cutting-edge green ammonia plant in Gopalpur, Odisha.
The plant will have a capacity of 1,500 tons per day (TPD) and will be entirely powered by renewable energy.
The project marks a significant step forward in Avaada’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
Utilizing Advanced Ammonia Production Technology
Casale will provide its advanced ammonia production technology, which ensures a carbon-free process for the plant.
Under the agreement, Casale will supply the green ammonia process license, a basic engineering package, proprietary equipment, and conduct a detailed engineering review.
With this collaboration, Casale’s licensed green ammonia production capacity in India will increase to 5,700 TPD.
Avaada’s Commitment to Expanding Renewable Energy in India
The green ammonia project follows Avaada’s recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Odisha government.
As part of the agreement, Avaada has committed ₹20,700 crore towards developing a variety of renewable energy projects, including 1,500 MW of floating solar power, two 1,000 MW pumped hydro storage plants, and green energy manufacturing units.
Avaada’s Vision for 2026
Avaada aims to achieve an ambitious 11 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2026.
In line with this goal, the company secured $1 billion from Brookfield’s Energy Transition Fund and $300 million from Thailand’s PTT Group subsidiary GPSC in 2023.
As reported by projectstoday.com, through these efforts, Avaada is reinforcing its position as a leader in India’s renewable energy sector.
